BLISTERS / BULLAE
A blister is a raised layer of skin filled with fluid. Blisters can be caused by friction, cold or hot injury (burns), insect bites, sensitivities, allergenic reactions and viral infections (herpes).
Treatment:
- Remove source of friction
- Avoid pricking blister, as this allows a portal of entry for bacteria
- Leave blister intact and cover with sterile dressings
